Coaching Requirements
"To win the game is great. To play the game is greater. To love the game is greatest of all"
USA Hockey and the Coaching Education Program require both certification and registration to be eligible to coach. Registration is done online on a yearly basis. Certification is also required. A few basic steps requirements are as follows:
USA Hockey Requirements (Steps 1-4 must be complete before participating in any team activities, step 5 must be complete by 12/31/25)
1. Register as a member of USA Hockey. Click here to register.
2. Background screening.
3. Safe Sport Training.
4. Online age-specific module(s) for age level of play you are coaching.
5. Coaching Education Program Certificate Clinic Requirements (Must be completed by Dec. 31 each season).
